Community Services
Smt. Malini Kishore Sanghvi Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, operated by Dr. M. L. Dhawale Memorial Complex, is located in Miyagam, Karjan, approximately 40 km from Vadodara. Established in 2004, this center began with the motto “Reaching to the Unreached.” It initially focused on serving the community of the 99 villages in the Karjan block and has since evolved into a state-of-the-art educational, healthcare, and community-based research center. The center includes an Undergraduate Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, and its community health services are a unique and integral part of its mission.
Our community health journey began in 2004, with activities in various villages across Karjan Taluka. The center integrates clinical services with community development efforts, focusing on health awareness, education, and various social issues. We run programs related to school health check-ups, adolescent awareness, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, gender equality, health and hygiene, and communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Specialized Care for Children with Cerebral Palsy (CP)
In 2015, we expanded our services to include management for special children. The following year, in 2016, we inaugurated the Ummeed Cerebral Palsy Centre, adopting an integrated interdisciplinary approach. The center provides a comprehensive range of services under one roof, including care from:
- Paediatric Neurologists
- Paediatricians
- Homoeopaths
- Paediatric Physiotherapists
- Psychologists
- Speech Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
Our primary focus is improving the quality of life of children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) through early intervention, therapy, and skill development programs aimed at fostering self-dependency.
In 2018-2019, we conducted a pilot study on 50 CP patients titled “Role of Homoeopathic Management along with an Integrated Approach in Cerebral Palsy with Mild, Moderate, and Severe Intellectual Disability.” The results of this study showed that recovery was faster when an integrated approach was used. Homoeopathy played a significant role in managing co-morbidities such as epilepsy, malnutrition, recurrent respiratory infections, and viral fevers. This approach helped reduce the frequency and intensity of these episodic diseases.

Sports and Rehabilitation
In 2019, we became members of the Cerebral Palsy Sports Federation of India (CPSFI). We appointed a dedicated sports teacher and trained our CP children for the Khel Mahakumbh sports competition. We are proud to share that our children won medals at both the state and inter-state levels. Additionally, our HoD of Ummeed Centre was honoured to be selected as the Vice President of CPSFI, Gujarat State for the 2020-2024 term.
Research Initiatives
On October 2, 2020, we launched a research project titled: “Exploring the Scope of Homoeopathic Medicine along with a Multidisciplinary Approach in the Management of Cerebral Palsy with Intellectual Disability: Experimental, Non-Randomized Study.” The project was registered with the Clinical Trial Registry of India, and a total of 111 patients have been enrolled in the study.
